Montgomery’s boys golf team turned in a competitive effort against one of the area’s top squads, but the Cougars fell to unbeaten Ridge, 139-152, in an eight-hole stroke-play match.

Facing a Ridge team that improved to 9-0, Montgomery battled throughout the round and saw Tyler Sugarman post the team’s low score with a 36, good for fourth place overall. Jacob Chang was close behind with a 37, tying for fifth, as the Cougars placed two golfers among the top six finishers.

Arav Rathore carded a 39, while Dylan Ko added a 40 to round out Montgomery’s scoring. The Cougars finished with a team total of 152 and moved to 9-4 on the season.

Ridge was paced by medalist Enzo Allain, who shot a 33. Ethan Gallagher followed with a 34, and Arvin Bajwa added a 35 as Ridge continued its strong season.

Although Montgomery came up short against a deep and undefeated opponent, the Cougars received another steady performance from Sugarman and solid scoring throughout the lineup in a match that provided a strong test midway through the season.
