Orchard Hill Vice Principal Lisa Caudill to Leave Montgomery for Principal Post in Princeton

Montgomery Township School District will be losing a respected elementary school administrator this summer, as Orchard Hill Elementary School Vice Principal Lisa Caudill prepares to leave the district for a principal position in Princeton.

Caudill will become principal of Littlebrook Elementary School in Princeton, effective July 1.

Her departure marks a notable loss for Orchard Hill, where she has been regarded as a steady, student-centered leader focused on school culture, student support and collaboration among staff and families.

Caudill has more than two decades of experience in elementary education, with a career shaped by work as a classroom teacher, teacher-leader and school administrator. Throughout that time, she has emphasized creating school communities where students feel known, valued, supported and encouraged to grow.

Most recently, as vice principal at Orchard Hill, Caudill has helped lead schoolwide initiatives designed to strengthen support systems for students, enhance school culture and build meaningful partnerships among educators, students and families. Her work has included redesigning Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, known as MTSS, implementing schoolwide character education and restorative practices initiatives, supporting professional learning, and collaborating on programs intended to meet the varied needs of learners.

While her new role represents a professional advancement, her departure will be felt in Montgomery.

Longtime Montgomery teacher John Rooney told Headline News Montgomery that Caudill is “by far the best administrator” he has ever worked with, “there is no doubt in my mind we will be talking about Superintendent Caudill in a few years” a reflection of the high regard in which she is held by colleagues.

Before coming to Montgomery, Caudill spent nearly two decades at Amsterdam Elementary School in Hillsborough, where she served as both a classroom teacher and teacher-leader. During her time there, she led professional development initiatives, contributed to school improvement planning, mentored colleagues and developed programs that promoted student leadership and community engagement.

Caudill earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and English from The College of New Jersey. She has also been recognized for her contributions to education with honors including Governor’s Teacher of the Year and Exemplary Elementary Educator.

Her move to Princeton places her in the top leadership role at Littlebrook Elementary School, where she will bring the same emphasis on relationships, inclusive practices and student-centered decision-making that has defined her work in Montgomery.

For Orchard Hill, Caudill’s resignation represents the departure of an administrator who helped shape the school’s daily climate and long-term student support efforts. For Princeton, it marks the arrival of an experienced elementary educator with a record of building programs, supporting teachers and focusing on the needs of children.

Caudill said she remains deeply committed to fostering school environments where all children and educators have opportunities to thrive.
