Charles Gregory Horn
Charles Gregory Horn, age 64, of Montgomery, passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2025, leaving an irreparable hole in our family and community.
Born on March 3rd, 1960, during a snowstorm that crippled New York City and required a patrol car escort to Jewish Memorial Hospital, this set the scene for Charles’ dramatic entrance into the world—a prelude to the powerful impact he would come to make in his following years of life.
Raised in The Bronx, alongside his two brothers and three sisters, it is here that he attended Visitation Grammar School and Church and received his sacraments. His education was furthered as a student of Cardinal Spellman High School in Manhattan, followed by undergraduate studies at Manhattan College and an MBA from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business, which he completed in 1989.
Professionally, Charles stood as a Senior Manager of AT&T/Lucent Technologies for 20 years before eventually discovering his passion for real estate. Charlie was a well-respected real estate agent for 23 years, during which time he breathed life into Keller Williams Cornerstone Realty and The Horn Group.
During this period, Charles moved to Montgomery, where he quickly met and married the love of his life in September of 1995. Shortly after taking on the role of a devout husband, the best years of his life were close to follow, welcoming their sons in 1996 and 1999, respectively. A shining father, the two sons he leaves behind are a reflection and testament to the incredible person Charles was.
When Charles wasn’t closing deals, advocating for a local cause, or raising political awareness, he was best found behind his drum kit—bringing any establishment alive alongside his bandmates. There wasn’t a dance floor his two feet didn’t meet as he was an unparalleled dance partner. His honesty was admirable, his support unwavering, and his smile, humor, and infectious laugh will be remembered as one that could light up even the darkest of rooms. Like his music, his presence was bold, passionate, and unforgettable.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 30 years, Robin Higgins-Horn; his two sons, Russell Higgins Horn and Justin Connor Horn; sisters Patricia Fitzgerald (John) and Donna Horn; brothers Christopher Horn and William Horn (Maureen); ten nieces and nephews; 15 great-nieces and nephews; 7 cousins; and countless friends and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Patricia Horn, and his sister, Suzanne Horn.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and offer support to his beloved family at the viewing, which will be held on Thursday, February 27th, from 6-8PM, at Hillsborough Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held in honor of Charles on Friday, February 28th, at 11:30AM, at St. Charles Borromeo, 47 Skillman Rd, Skillman, NJ. Following the mass, a graveside service will take place at Holy Cross Burial Park and Mausoleum in Jamesburg, NJ. All are welcome to join in remembering and celebrating his life.
Charles’ sudden departure is an immeasurable loss, but his legacy of love, leadership, and music will live on forever in all who loved him.

Elizabeth "Bettie" F. Stevens
Elizabeth "Bettie" F. Stevens, 93, died Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Stonebridge Rehabilitation Center in Montgomery Township.
Born in Brooklyn on April 9, 1930, the only child of James and Florence Burnett, Elizabeth grew up in Rockaway, NY, where she found her love for the beach, fishing, dancing, and swimming.
Bettie, Harry (her beloved husband of 52 years), and their children lived in several states before becoming longtime residents of Montgomery Township. In retirement, she, Harry, and their dog Bleu enjoyed their vacation home in Lake Ariel, PA. Taking her grandkids to "Claws and Paws" animal park in the Poconos gave her great joy. She was also an active member of the Lake Wallenpaupack community, serving on several committees.
Elizabeth's primary career was always her family. Early in life, she was a representative for Ma Bell Telephone Company, then later in life worked at the Postal Center in Hillsborough.
Elizabeth was passionate about many things. She had unconditional love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was everything to her. Bettie loved getting a bargain, and she and Harry were avid garage sale, flea market, and auction hunters. The ShopRite flyer was a must-read. Playing bocce and cards, especially Bridge and Skip-Bo, always brought out her competitive side.
She was a devout Catholic, proud of her Irish heritage, with Christmas being by far her favorite holiday and family celebration. She had a quirky, sometimes "off the wall" sense of humor with a firm belief that laughter was the best medicine.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, James and Florence Burnett; her husband, Harry P. Stevens; her infant son, James Burnett Stevens; and her cousin, James Dunne.
She is survived by her six children: Gregory P. Stevens and his wife Sandra of Odessa, FL; Lisa H. Miller and her husband Peter of Carlisle, PA; Chief James M. Stevens (Ret.) Hamilton Police Division and his wife Patricia of Hamilton Township; Paul R. Stevens and his wife Toni of Bridgewater; Robert E. Stevens and his wife Cindy of Bethany Beach, DE; and Jeanne M. Mistretta and her husband Nick of Skillman; 13 grandchildren: Jai, Jon, James, Devin and her husband Josh, Nichole, Cassie and her husband Billy, Kyle, Brianne and her husband Tyler, Blake, Melissa, Ashley, Alexandra, and Nicholas; and two great-grandsons: Aidan and Zachery.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hopewell on February 7. Interment followed in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
