Montgomery Volunteer Fire Company to Host Membership Open House March 4

Residents interested in serving their community will have a chance to learn more about volunteering with the Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Department during a Membership Open House on Wednesday, March 4, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Montgomery Twp. Vol. Fire Co. #2 (Station 46), 529 Georgetown Franklin Turnpike, Skillman.
Fire company members said the open house is designed for anyone curious about joining—whether as a first step toward becoming a volunteer firefighter or simply to better understand how the department operates. No prior experience is required, and volunteers will receive training and support. Prospective members must be 16 years of age or older.
The event will offer an opportunity to meet current volunteers, ask questions about time commitment and training, and hear what it’s like to respond to emergencies in Montgomery Township. Organizers say volunteering is more than learning skills—it’s joining a close-knit team that relies on trust, preparation and community service.
“Answer the call” is the message behind the open house, organizers said, emphasizing that local volunteers play a key role in keeping residents safe and supporting professional emergency services.
Residents interested in making a difference—or simply learning more—are encouraged to attend.
