SKILLMAN, NJ — Cherry Valley Country Club recently announced that Montgomery native Jared Gaynor will serve as the new head coach of the club’s Sharks swim team.

Mistretta and Gaynor have been friends since kindergarten and are both members of the Montgomery High School Class of 2022.

He is now entering his fourth year with the coaching staff after spending the previous three seasons as an assistant coach. His promotion to head coach marks the latest step in a swimming career that has taken him from athlete to mentor and team leader.

Gaynor attends Montclair State University, where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a minor in sports coaching. He has one semester of student teaching remaining before completing his degree.

His academic training and years of experience with the Sharks have prepared him to guide a program he already knows well, both as a former swimmer and as a coach.

As head coach, Gaynor will oversee a team and organization that played an important role in his own development as a young athlete.

Headline News Montgomery congratulates Gaynor on his appointment and wishes him continued success in his coaching career.
