Montgomery Cougars Even Record with 13-8 Victory Over Steinert

Montgomery, NJ – The Montgomery High School boys lacrosse team bounced back from an early-season setback to even their record at 1-1 with a decisive 13-8 victory over Steinert in front of the home crowd on Saturday.

The Cougars dominated offensively, firing 25 shots on goal and showcasing a balanced attack led by junior Patrick Petrozzini, with five goals, four assists, and two ground balls. Senior Matthew Cudmore also found the back of the net five times while adding two ground balls to his stat line.

Junior Colin Long contributed with four points, netting four goals and adding an assist while collecting three ground balls. The offensive effort was further supported by goals from Will Schwartz, Cooper Jaworovich, Finn Jaworovich, and Zach Mutton.

On the defensive end, Freshman Jack Finnegan controlled the faceoff circle, taking 25 draws and scooping up six ground balls to help maintain possession for the Cougars.

Next up for he Cougars is a 4:00 game Tuesday vs Peddie at Peddie.
