‘Meet the Artist’ Reception to Spotlight Abstract Painter Richa Rashmi at Municipal Center

Nicholas Mistretta

MONTGOMERY TWP., N.J. — The Montgomery Municipal Center lobby has been transformed into a gallery of color and gesture, unveiling a new exhibit by contemporary abstract artist Richa Rashmi that will remain on view through the New Year. The township will host a “Meet the Artist” reception on Thursday, November 6, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 100 Community Drive, Skillman, NJ 08558. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is welcome to attend. Mayor Neena Singh and members of the Township Committee are expected to be on hand.

Rashmi’s work—rendered primarily in acrylics and watercolor—leans into the meditative and expressive power of abstraction. The artist describes painting as a spiritual act, an honest exploration of life and the connections that bind people to one another and to the natural world.

“Art, for me, is about creating bridges between inner emotions and the outer world,” Rashmi said. “I’m grateful for the chance to share my work in Montgomery and hope it offers moments of peace, connection, and inspiration to those who experience it.”

Raised with a strong artistic influence from her father, Rashmi embraced art early and committed to a full-time practice in 2017. Her portfolio spans abstract, contemporary, modern, and folk styles that capture moods, memories, and everyday beauty. Her work has been exhibited across the United States, Canada, and internationally, including shows at the Indian Consulate in New York CityAlfa Art GalleryOne Art Space Gallery NYC, and Novartis, and is held in private and corporate collections worldwide.
