Fatal Crash Closes Route 206 in Montgomery Township

Montgomery Township, NJ – A fatal motor vehicle crash on State Route 206 in front of the Nassau Tennis Club resulted in the death of a 64-year-old Skillman man on Wednesday morning.

According to Montgomery Township Police, the crash occurred at approximately 10:00 AM on February 19, 2025. The victim was driving a 2017 Subaru northbound on Route 206 when he collided with the rear of a 2019 International delivery truck. The truck was operated by a 44-year-old man from Burlington, NJ, who also sustained injuries in the crash.

Emergency personnel extricated the Subaru driver from his vehicle before transporting him to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was later pronounced deceased. The truck driver was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Somerset with non-life-threatening injuries. Neither vehicle had passengers at the time of the crash.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. The Montgomery Township Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team are leading the inquiry. No summonses have been issued at this time.

The crash caused significant traffic delays as Route 206 was closed for approximately three hours to allow for the investigation and cleanup. Responding agencies included Montgomery Township EMS, Montgomery Fire Companies #1 and #2, the NJDOT/NJSP Incident Management Response Team, and Robert Wood Johnson Medics.
