MONTGOMERY — Township officials have announced a new date for the Tribute to General Richard Montgomery, one of the signature events in the community’s “Montgomery 250 – Birth of Our Nation” commemorations.
Originally scheduled for Wednesday, December 31, the tribute has been postponed to Saturday, January 31 in response to feedback from residents.
According to the township, many community members shared that they would be traveling or otherwise unavailable during the year-end holidays, prompting the decision to move the event to a later date when more people can attend and fully participate.
The tribute is part of Montgomery’s broader effort to recognize its namesake, General Richard Montgomery, and to highlight the township’s connection to early American history during the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding.
Further details on the January 31 program — including time, location, and program elements — are expected to be released in early January through the township’s official communication channels, as well as, here at Headline News Montgomery.
