Montgomery Township, NJ — The Montgomery High School Girls Lacrosse team is rewriting the program’s history books.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Cougars delivered a dominant performance at home in Cougar Stadium, defeating Manalapan 20-9 in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 Quarterfinals. With the win, Montgomery punches its ticket to the semifinals for the first time in program history.
Montgomery’s high-octane offense fired 23 shots on goal, led by standout Ellie Pizzulli, who tallied seven goals, along with 3 ground balls, 4 draw controls, and a forced turnover. Lexi Lopez and Sophia Soren added four goals apiece, while Kennedy Dexter and Mollie Little each netted two.
Goalkeeping duties were split, with Reagan McCoy making 3 saves and allowing 5 goals, and Victoria Formica contributing 1 save and 4 goals against. Together, the Cougar defense held strong against a determined Manalapan squad.

Despite the loss, Manalapan’s Aryelle Stein reached a personal milestone, scoring 6 goals to notch her 100th career goal, a bright spot for the visitors in a tough matchup.
With the historic quarterfinal win, Montgomery now awaits the details of Thursday’s semifinal matchup — opponent and location still to be determined.
