The Montgomery Township Committee meets tonight, Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m., with a full agenda that includes state funding, township projects, personnel matters and several items of community interest.
Among the highlights:
- NJ Assembly District 16 representatives are scheduled to present Fiscal Year 2027 funding for Montgomery’s Wastewater Treatment Consolidation Project.
- The Committee will consider a final contract amendment connected to the demolition of the former municipal building and floodplain restoration at 2261 Route 206, bringing the professional-services contract to an amount not to exceed $49,492.50.
- A resolution would decline, for now, to release safety, stabilization and landscape guarantees for Montgomery Crossing Phase 1A because the Township Engineer identified work that remains incomplete or requires correction.
- The Committee will consider a temporary Harlingen Road and Devon Drive closure for the Nov. 8 Veterans Day procession to Montgomery Veterans Park.
- Robert Van Benschoten is scheduled for appointment as Construction Official and Fire Subcode Official following the retirement of Michael Krupsky, with a four-year term through October 2030.
- The agenda also includes release of several Montgomery Ridge maintenance guarantees and a final change order for the Folusiak Tract parking project, reducing that contract by $16,466.05 to $116,329.95.
- A separate resolution would renew Montgomery’s shared-services agreement with Tewksbury Township for Chief Financial Officer and Qualified Purchasing Agent services through October 2028.
Also on the agenda is correspondence concerning a request to relocate the World Trade Center granite block at the 9/11 Memorial in Veterans Park to Fire Company No. 2 on Route 518, along with a separate request for a 9/11 proclamation for the fire company.
Future discussion items listed by the township include the Community Garden, food security, YMCA, transportation survey results, improvements to the Otto Kaufman Community Center and Senior Center, and a municipal solar project.
The meeting also includes the Mayor’s report, Township Committee reports, legal updates and public comment. An executive session is listed for contract negotiations involving township infrastructure and an affordable-housing litigation update.
