Montgomery Volleyball Rallies Past WW-P South, Stays Perfect at 5-0

MONTGOMERY, NJ — The Montgomery High School girls varsity volleyball team kept its unbeaten start intact, shaking off an opening-set loss to defeat West Windsor-Plainsboro South 2-1 and improve to 5-0 on the season.

The Cougars dropped the first set 25-19 but responded decisively in the second, winning 25-17 to even the match. Montgomery then completed the comeback with a 25-22 victory in the third set.

Sidney Koslow powered the Montgomery attack with a team-high 12 kills, while also contributing five digs and five service points. The Cougars received another strong all-around performance from Ritisha Mungi, who finished with 17 assists, six aces, four kills and 11 service points. Her six aces led the team. Pooja Venkat also made a major impact from the service line, recording five aces to go along with three kills, nine digs and eight service points.

Defensively, Selina Tan led Montgomery with 15 digs and added an ace, while Anshika Verma was a force at the net with four kills and four blocks. Montgomery also received two kills from Avery Zhao, while Leah Fenmore, Carly Zissman and Anita Balashova each added one.

As a team, the Cougars finished with 28 kills, 34 digs, 17 assists, five blocks and 13 aces. After being tested early, Montgomery showed its ability to adjust and regain control of the match, taking the final two sets to preserve its perfect record. The victory moves the Cougars to 5-0and continues an impressive opening stretch to the 2026 season.
