Community Garden Explored Near Route 206

Montgomery officials are exploring the creation of a community garden on open space near the intersection of Route 206 and Harlingen Road.

Township staff members plan to meet with representatives of the state Green Acres Program to discuss whether the property could be used for that purpose.

The proposal could involve a partnership with the Harlingen Church. Township Business Administrator Lori Savron said Montgomery does not currently have a community garden and described the possibility of a public-private partnership as appealing.

The proposal remains in the early stages, and additional information will be released as discussions continue.
