Montgomery Boys Soccer Falls to Ridge in Overtime Heartbreaker, 2-1

The Montgomery Cougars boys soccer team pushed Ridge to the brink in their season opener but came up short in overtime, falling 2-1 in a hard-fought road battle.

Montgomery struck first in the opening half when Sid Goyal capitalized on a setup from Dylan Heines, giving the Cougars a 1-0 lead. The defense, anchored by strong goalkeeping from Alex Acot, held Ridge scoreless through the break.

Ridge responded in the second half, equalizing behind a goal from Dylan Rocha, assisted by Soumil Nimse, sending the game into extra time. In the decisive overtime period, Rocha struck again, this time off a feed from Daniel Seng, to lift Ridge to victory.

Despite the loss, Montgomery showed resilience and composure throughout. The Cougars generated eight shots on goal, testing Ridge goalkeeper Oliver Perks, who finished with seven saves. On the other end, Acot turned away eight shots to keep Montgomery in contention until the final moments.
