Remembering Kim Borredon: The Heart of Alfonso’s Pizza and a Montgomery Treasure

The Mistrettas

Montgomery Township is mourning the loss of a beloved community member and a local icon. Kim Borredon, the warm, tireless, and unmistakable face of Alfonso’s Pizza, passed away this week — leaving behind not only her family and friends, but also a community that she helped shape through decades of unwavering presence, generosity, and hard work.

For so many of us, Alfonso’s isn’t just a place to grab a slice — it is a part of the fabric of growing up in Montgomery. And Kim was the reason why. She wasn’t just the person behind the counter or managing the floor — she was Alfonso’s. Her dedication was unparalleled; she was seemingly always there, day after day, year after year. Kim didn’t just run a restaurant. She nurtured it — and everyone who walked through its doors.

Her influence extended far beyond great food and friendly service. Kim was a mentor to generations of local kids who got their first jobs at Alfonso’s. As busers, servers, and kitchen hands, they learned more than how to fold a pizza box or set a table — they learned responsibility, patience, teamwork, and kindness under her guidance. For parents, Kim’s steady presence brought comfort, knowing their children were in capable and caring hands. Her leadership was an unspoken gift we all came to rely on, perhaps too quietly.

To know Kim was to know loyalty and friendship in its purest form. She had a way of making everyone feel like family — because to her, they were. Her generosity, laughter, and the ever-present twinkle in her eye made Alfonso’s feel less like a restaurant and more like a second home.

At Headline News Montgomery, we understand all too well the closeness of working with family — the shared sacrifices, the late nights, the constant balancing of business and love. When you work together day in and day out, the connection becomes something deeper, something sacred. That’s the kind of bond Kim shared with her family and the Alfonso’s staff.

We are heartbroken for our dear friends Alex, Gabriella, Francesca, and the entire team at Alfonso’s. We grieve with you. And we celebrate Kim’s life — a life of service, love, and community spirit that touched more people than she likely ever realized.

Kim Borredon’s absence will be deeply felt in Montgomery, but her spirit — strong, compassionate, and ever-present — will always be a part of our town.

With our sincerest condolences,
The Staff of Headline News Montgomery
