Montgomery, NJ — The Montgomery Cougar baseball team picked up a solid home win on Monday afternoon, defeating Rutgers Prep 4–2 in a well-played contest that saw senior Mason Neufeld shine on both sides of the ball. With the victory, the Cougars improved to 5–12 on the season.

Neufeld was dominant on the mound, tossing a complete game on 102 pitches. He allowed just two runs — only one of them earned — scattered across six hits. Neufeld walked only one batter and struck out six, controlling the game from start to finish.
But his work didn’t stop on the mound. Neufeld also delivered at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run scored, helping to spark the Cougar offense.

Alex Bender also turned in a strong performance, going 2-for-3 with a run scored. John Donahue chipped in with a 1-for-2 day and an RBI, while catcher Evan Puleio added a hit in three trips to the plate, anchoring the defense behind Neufeld.
