At Thursday night’s Township Committee meeting, Township Administrator Lori Savron delivered a comprehensive update on key projects and initiatives set to impact Montgomery residents this summer

Savron opened her report with an overview of summer roadwork and infrastructure improvements, noting that paving projects are underway on Montgomery Road and Township Line Road. Both projects will require temporary detours, and residents were urged to be patient as work continues.
“These are important improvements that will make our roads and sidewalks safer for everyone,” Savron said, adding that the projects also include sidewalk extensions, pedestrian safety upgrades, andcrosswalk retrofitting in older parts of town. Residents were encouraged to sign up for Nixle alerts to receive real-time updates on road closures and construction progress.
Savron also updated the committee on the township website migration to a new platform. While the overall look and content will remain familiar to users, the upgraded platform promises better performance and long-term stability.
“There may be some broken links during the transition,” Savron cautioned. “If you can’t find what you need, please contact the Township Clerk’s office so we can assist you directly.”
In other updates, Savron reported that the Inclusive Playground being built at the municipal buildingremains on schedule for a June opening, offering families a new accessible space to gather and play. In addition, demolition of the old municipal building is also on track for June, pending final agreement paperwork with HUD. “They have everything they need from us,” Savron noted. “Once we have the signed agreement, we’ll move forward.”
Finally, Savron acknowledged that May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Following last year’s initiative, positive affirmation signs will again be placed around the township to promote wellness and community support.
