Montgomery Township Planning Board Kicks Off 2025 With Reorganization Meeting
MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP—The Planning Board convened for its 2025 reorganization meeting, setting the stage for a new year of planning and development in the township. Leadership appointments, meeting schedules, and key resolutions dominated the agenda during the session held Monday evening.
Leadership Appointed
David Campeas was nominated and unanimously elected as chair of the Planning Board. Arun Mani will serve as vice-chair, also receiving unanimous support. Sarah Roberts was appointed secretary, rounding out the leadership team for the year.
Additionally, appointments were made to the Master Plan and Site Plan subcommittees, and liaisons were designated from the Economic Development Committee and Transportation Advisory Committee to the Planning Board.
Planning Ahead
The board approved its 2025 meeting schedule, with sessions set for the second and fourth Mondays of each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
In compliance with the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law (NJMLUL), the board designated The Courier News as the official newspaper for publishing legal notifications.
Public Comment Highlights
During the public comment section, former mayor/current township committee person and longtime Planning Board member Devra Keenan expressed her disappointment at not being reappointed to the board by Mayor Singh while also indicating Singh’s seat on the Planning Board as a possible conflict of interest, considering her livelihood as a local realtor. However, she pledged to remain actively involved in shaping Montgomery’s future. “Rest assured, I will continue to advocate for what I think is best for Montgomery of today and for tomorrow,” Keenan said, concluding her remarks by thanking the board for their service and wishing them all a happy and healthy new year.
Resolutions Passed
The board unanimously approved an application from Princeton Orthopedic Associates to repurpose 15,180 square feet of office space known as Block 28006, Lot 43, 862 Route 518 Neer Vreeland Drive (formerly the SSAT building) into a state-of-the-art surgical center.
All Planning Board meetings are open to the public and provide an opportunity for community members to engage with township planning and development initiatives.
